Kharkiv is the second-largest city of Ukraine (about 1,500,000 population). Kharkiv was the first capital of the Ukraine (from December 1919 to January 1934). Now Kharkiv is a major cultural, scientific, educational, transport, and industrial centre of Ukraine. It is located in the North-East of the country.
